Four weeks, has it been this long already, it feels a lot shorter. Thiss week, per Mr. Abud's suggestion, i will actually really try to expalin, discuss and reflect our two labs this week
On wednesday. we had a sub, so this lab was one we were doing on our own even though Mr. Roberts is a sweet, sweet man. We had to find the thickness of aluminumn foil, of the width of the foil. We concluded as a class that the Aluminumn foil is .0012 cm thick. But what did this mean? was each individual particle that thick, stacked along side one another equally or was it more than one layer? if not, can the particles be any smaller? While these topics are still beign discussed in clas, i predict that while the particles have amaxiumn size they also have a minimum as well.
The next lab we conducted was the lab to figure out the density of a gas. We used the gas created when Alka Seltzer tablets mixes with water. we captured the gas using stange tools but it all worked out in the end . Our gas had a denisty of one g/ ml which was kinda pitiful i believe but the alka seltzer was kidna weak, maybe the gas is really weak?
Together while these labs dont have too much to do with one another i feel that we will tie them together somehow, and relate gas density to aluminumn foil thickness.
While this is not scientific, it is stil lchem related, we voted on shirts this week, i am so excited to find out the winner this week. I really hope it was one of the simplier designs or that we have our names on the back, i think the t-shirts really are like a team. which we are Chem T3am so it fits.
I hope i do well on the unit 2 assesment comming up.
